Overall Program Focus- Services include evaluation of overall waste characterization program, including all aspects from procedures, to sample collection, segregation versus mixing of materials, and package assessments. The objective of this effort is to verify that methods and processes are not over-classifying the waste and that the amount of Class A waste is maximized.
Class B/C Waste Minimization -With the closure of Barnwell, Class B and C waste disposal will disappear for an indeterminate length of time. In the current regulatory environment it is unlikely that a new facility for B and C waste disposal will open in the foreseeable future. It is expected that this would be an ongoing process with periodic reassessment. We believe our services will provide a net savings to our customers.
Scaling Factor Analysis –This evaluates plant operating histories and sampling records to investigate scaling factor behavior. The objective is to reduce sampling requirements and stabilize characterization results through the defining of constant scaling factors.
