Shipping Program Support-
- Overall Problem Focus- Provides an evaluation of overall waste characterization, from procedures. Included in this service is sample collection, segregation versus mixing of materials, and packaging assessments.
- Scaling Factor Analysis- Reduces sampling requirements, stabilizes characterization results, defines constant scaling factors, and avoids over specification of limited radionuclides.
Activated and Large Component Characterization- Provides an activated component analysis ranging from miscellaneous small components to reactor vessels and internals. Computer programs and methods conform to industry practice. Activity estimates are made individually for each customer with its specific parameters and exposure histories- they are not recycled from prior work. Results and methods are fully disclosed. Work is preformed under our independent NQA-1 Quality Assurance program.
Waste Storage Planning- Limited access to disposal of Class B and Class C waste may require the development of storage options. We can assist in the development of a cost-effective storage plan for waste that may have no available disposal venue. For plants with existing storage facilities, the storage dynamics have changed. Storage is longer term with more waste at higher activity concentrations. We can assist with the faculty evaluation to plan for these conditions and requalification and relicensing of the facility.
Shipping Software- Our Integrated Shipping and Inventory Program (ISIP) was rebuilt using state of the art development tools including Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005. The program is network friendly and provides a range of new features for ISIP users. The new development platform assures long term maintainability and compatibility with ever-changing operating systems.
